on covid-19, racism, & human trafficking: litany of the queen of victory
Well, it's been a tumultuous and emotionally draining few weeks...or months.
I've found myself listening to fear, spun to make conclusions that don't align with who God says that He is. Over the last two weeks I made a commitment: I was going to stop thinking these events all over in my brain, on my own, but I was going to bring them to Our Lady as I prayed the rosary.
I'm still listening to lots of podcasts, and reading news articles: but I'm not doing it on my own.
Friends, what is going on has nothing to do with political agenda. It has everything to do with the spiritual attack of the enemy. Think Satan isn't real? Think he doesn't have a plan for your life? For your world?
Well, he definitely does. Look at all this chaos.
But you know what? Jesus already won, and He hasn't left us alone. We have to turn to Him, daily. We can't just passively watch headlines, and we can't let bad news send us into despair. We have to be grounded in Him.
He hasn't left us alone. He's also given us His Mother.
Last night, I was on the phone with a friend, and he remarked how Our Lady defeated racism by appearing to different cultures, taking on the appearance of the people. She met people where they were at, and affirmed their inherent dignity.
There's so much going on right now; so many topics that don't seem to relate. That's why the conclusion that I (and many others) am drawing is that this is the attack of the enemy; the drama of good vs. evil, playing out before our very eyes, asking us: what side will you choose?
Ever since my friend said that, I felt inspired to write a prayer, interceding for an end to Covid-19, racism, human trafficking, and more. In mass today, she gave me the words.
So, here it is. It's pretty long. It's not meant to be a political statement. It's not all inclusive; it barely scratches the surface. I encourage you to pray with it, and as you think of other intentions, add them...all asking for the intercession of Our Lady, Queen of Victory. Especially as we've seen more and more stories of statues of our Mother being desecrated: re-enthroning the Queen.
Let us pray, friends. Before we do anything else, before we form any more opinions-- let. us. pray.
